Tell Us: What Does Disability Pride Month Mean to You?

July is Disability Pride Month, a time when disabled people and allies around the world celebrate disabled people’s identities, achievements, cultures, and communities.

Awareness of Disability Pride Month is growing, but many people are still unfamiliar with it. For some disabled people, it’s an opportunity to celebrate disability as an important part of who they are. For others, it’s a chance to raise awareness of the barriers that disabled people face and the changes needed to create a more inclusive society.

We’d like to hear what Disability Pride Month means to you

If you’re a disabled person, does Disability Pride Month resonate with you? Does it make you feel seen, empowered, connected, challenged, hopeful, or something else entirely?

If you’re an ally, what have you learned from disabled people and the disability rights movement? How do you support disability pride and inclusion in your everyday life?

There are no right or wrong answers. We know that disabled people have a wide range of experiences and views, and we would love to hear from people with different perspectives.
