Our annual survey highlighted three key areas for us to work on; health and care, physical accessibility and attitudes and awareness. Further discussion has helped us get a bit more detail about those areas.
We’re holding a couple of online meetings in January where we’ll start figuring out how we take action on the things that matter to you. Please do join us if you can, we know you’ve got fantastic ideas, experiences and knowledge that are invaluable. These meetings will just be the start of the conversation so don’t worry if you can’t make it. If you have anything you want to share about any of our priorities, just drop us an email, reach us on social media or leave us a voicemail.

You told us that health and care is one of the areas you think needs YDRF to work on this year. Specifically you raised concerns about the mental health crisis line, access to GPs and negative experiences with medical professionals and systems more widely.
Join us to start planning how we can address these issues in York.
You can also let us know about your experiences with the mental health crisis line through our google form.

We know physical accessibility is important and weren’t suprised when it was highlighted as a priority for this year. We’ll continue to work on the city centre footstreets issue but we know that there’s more to accessibility than that.
Come along to talk about how we improve York’s accessibility issues such as bins and recycling boxes being left on pavements and other obstacles in the streets. We’ll also think about good access looks like and how to encourage it in our city.
Please note, this will not be a chance to discuss the footstreets. If you’d like to be involved in that issue, please have a look at our recent blog post introducing York Accessibility Action.
